2nd Chance

Updated: Nov 8, 2023

When something goes wrong, do you ever place the blame on someone else or something? We all grapple with this! When talking about having a relationship with God, a young person recently told me that it’s Adam’s fault, she was not there and it’s not her fault! Well, Adam said it was Eve’s fault, and Eve said it was the serpent who deceived her. The blame game and not taking responsibility has becomes contagious and goes from generation to generation. Perhaps not in the same pattern as it happened with Adam and Eve but in our own various interpretations! God is eternal and that is one of His attributes, His relentless love is what defines Him best.

When God created humans, He had a specific role for them to play and it was his intention for them to live forever under His authority. Man’s primary role was to manage the Garden of Eden. However, we all know what happen when disobedience took place. Although the original plan changed due to man’s disobedience, our loving God still gave humanity a 2nd Chance. Our relationship with God is so valuable and essential for who He is. Knowing what is yet to come, should bring us to a place of surrender and adoration! “God saw all that He had made, and it was very good.” Genesis 1:31

God’s love is unconditional and incomparable because He still maintained eternity in His perspective from Genesis to Revelation regardless of man’s disobedience. The Tree of Life and fruit was mentioned in Genesis. In Rev 2:7 God says that “To everyone who is victorious, I will give fruit from the tree of life in the Paradise of God.” Rev 22:2 says …”On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month.” God remains committed to His plan from His creation because He loves His children and has eternity in mind. This is truly a reason to be filled with joy and to celebrate His goodness.

Dear Lord, Thank you that you gave me a 2nd chance when I fall short because of your unconditional love. May I be so firmly rooted and grounded in your love each day that nothing can throw me off balance. Amen

Meditate on: Isaiah 40:31 “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength, they will soar high on wings like eagles, they will run and not grow wear, they will walk and not faint.
