Yes, a true ongoing story is told of a runaway Kangaroo last Friday that escaped at a stopover zoo en route to its destination to another Province. There were two kangaroos on board and before the driver knew it, one had jumped over their heads and out into the street for a fast run. It has finally been found!
The way of life of kangaroos is hopping and they have an energy-efficient way to move, which help them cover large distances as they search for food. As soon as this K found leeway, she hopped off and was gone! Kangaroos like their freedom and can outrun humans! It appears that she had found her freedom from captivity temporarily!
The definition of “fugitive” is a person running away to avoid being captured! When I heard this story reported I was reminded of the advice Paul gave to Timothy which also applies to us in our daily lives.
In 1Tim 6:11-12 that says: “But you, Timothy, are a man of God; so run from all these evil things. Pursue righteousness and a godly life, along with faith, love, perseverance, and gentleness. Fight the good fight for the true faith. Hold tightly to the eternal life to which God has called you, which you have declared so well before many witnesses.”
Consider these two questions! Can we run away from God by procrastinating? How can we avoid fleeing from God?
