A Little Child!

Updated: Sep 12, 2023

Children are simple, open and naturally look for joy every day!

On a plane from Vancouver recently I met Jack – a 1 year-old boy who decided to hang out with me from time to time. A stranger yet not a stranger! When his mother, Sara passed by my seat, he just leaped out to me and relaxed on my laps. They were seated one row ahead of me. His mother Sara was so surprised but eventually relaxed.

Initially, I wasn’t sure how to react but when I noticed that every time they passed by me, he stopped by and repeated the same thing, I took notice! This was a reminder to me about “bridging the gap”! Trusting Jesus and enjoying fellowship with Him, and just being authentic! Our faith and passion should be contagious!

Later that day, I was reminded that God is infinite, this is his attribute. He knows no restrictions of space, ability, or power or anything else. The Bible says that ”the kingdom of God is like a little child”. Simple yet profound. We can take time to sit on His laps, relax and enjoy His presence like little Jack!

Another reminder was while holding Wayne, a 16-month old baby, while chatting with Sally, he kept on putting his hand on his mouth saying (Sh---------Sh--------) in his baby language.

Yet another simple lesson reminder that we don’t have to talk all the time, listening has an important role. Quite often God wants to speak to us but often we are so busy talking so much that we miss out what He wants us to hear! He used Wayne to remind me how much more He wants to speak to us.
