Balance

Destiny, recently asked this question: “Do you have any tips for me to stay connected to God?”

I immediately thought of the things we do to stay healthy. Such as having a balanced diet, drinking water, exercising, being physically active and other things we do.


So just as we make extra effort to stay healthy physically, we have definitely every reason to stay spiritually healthy. I Tim 4:8 says: “Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come.”


Do you ever get so busy doing really good things yet neglecting spending time with God? I can definitely identify with Destiny at certain times.


God’s Word is the foundation of everything we believe, so diligently spending time in the Word helps us hear from our Maker. We can then intimately become acquainted with the God of the Bible. We were created to hear God’s voice. The Holy Spirit who lives inside us knows how to speak and get our attention. If we still our minds and rest in His presence each day we can have that connection. That will give us a healthy balance in our physical and spiritual lives!
