Bread

Jesus said “I am the Bread of Life. Whoever believes in me will never be hungry again."

…. John 6:35


Bread is an essential part of a healthy balanced diet. The nutrients of bread: calcium, fibre, iron, protein, energy, vitamin. There are several different types of bread, a few of them are rye, white, whole wheat, multigrain, baguette, everything and barley. Everyone makes a choice of their favourite taste!


Bread and fish are associated with Jesus’ teachings in the Bible for spiritual and physical nourishment. Jesus feed the 5,000 people bread and fish. He also made breakfast for his disciples and served fish and bread. This was definitely significant and important to him! Then he declared, “I am the bread of Life” three different times.” Something I noted here too is that when he served bread it was accompanied with fish. During breakfast time with the disciples in the conversation with Peter, he told him twice “Feed my sheep”.


In the scriptures He says that He is the “Bread of Life”. As we feed on him daily as His children engaging in the Word, we get energized and enabled so that we can feed His sheep like he told Peter in ways he directs us individually. It is such an honor and privilege to be His hands and feet reaching out to those he leads us to in our life journeys. Spend sometime with him and listen to what He is saying to you.


Dear Lord, Thank you for the personal invitation you make available for me daily to develop a closer relationship with you. Help me to trust you and allow the Holy Spirit to guide me in being your hands and feet. In Jesus’ name. Amen.


Throughout this Day meditate on this: “For we are God’s handwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:10
