Delicious Fruit

Updated: May 11

“The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control…” – Galatians 5:22-23

These are the virtues that will grow in us like how fruit grows on trees when our lives are rooted in Christ and watered by faith.

Fruits are an essential part of a nutritious diet. They contain vitamins, minerals, fiber, and other nutrients. Fruits energy-giving. Helps maintain good health.

You bear the fruit of the Spirit abiding in Christ, praying daily, asking God to help you grow in love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. By reading your Bible daily, meditating on passages that speak to the fruit of the holy spirit.

Some fruits you probably enjoy eating!

The Pineapple

A delicious slice of pineapple cut is sweet and tasty but also has some incredible health benefits. Pineapples promote tissue healing, fights inflammation, aid digestion, relieves arthritis pain. Provides plenty of nutrients. A pineapple plant can take up to 3 years to grow and mature into a plant!

It is also known as an image of “friendship” and “welcome” since it’s discovery some centuries back!

The Black Berries

Blackberries are packed with vitamins, minerals, fiber and antioxidants. “These nutrients are essential for good health.”

While taking a walk recently, I came across these juicy blackberries along the path. They were growing wild but still so juicy, so I picked up some and took them home to eat.

The Pears

Pears are a powerhouse fruit, packing fiber, vitamins. These nutrients are thought to fight inflammation, promote gut and heart health, protect against certain diseases. They also benefit a person’s digestion.

Last week a friend invited me to her house to pick up some pears. She said that the pear tree had gone crazy this year, currently, there are so many pears than they could handle. The above picture describes it all! Abundance!!!

We bear fruit when we endeavor to walk as Jesus Christ walked and actively pursuing obedience to the law of God. In the broadest sense, to bear fruit as a Christian is to become like Jesus Christ. Jesus said, "He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit" (John 15:5)

Since fruits are an essential part of a nutritious diet for our physical bodies daily, how much more is the Fruit of the Spirit essential spiritually in our daily lives?
