“Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. Matthew 7:7

Have you ever been stuck in life’s hallway, waiting for a door to open. Praise God in that hallway.  Even in waiting, God is right beside you.  I recently watched a young toddler playing with his truck in the room and every time he hit the wall or something in his way he shouted “I’m stuck”. I was reminded that happens to us all in our spiritual and natural lives.  Where do you find yourself stuck today and how do you get unstuck! Psalm 121: 1-2 has the answer for you David says: I lift up my eyes to the mountains—where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.”

This metaphor is used quite often (opening a door to something new or closing a door).  When  I’m waiting for a door to open and when it’s not opening yet, I feel stuck! That’s when I need to know that I’m in waiting, God is right beside me even in that waiting period. I may not be progressing as I would like, not physically moving but it’s a new season of growth. What I really need to know is that I am transitioning to a deeper level of trust or a renewal sense of purpose in my life.

A door is a symbol of opportunity and a key of authority.  God orchestrates events, provides guidance, opens and closes doors according to His perfect will. He says in Revelation 3: 8 “I know all the things you do, and I have opened a door for you that no one can close. You have little strength, yet you obeyed my word and did not deny me.”

Dear Lord, let your favor open doors of joy and miracles for me in Jesus’s name.  Please grant me wisdom and peace. Help me be sensitive as you open and close doors in my life and to continually know that you are in total control all the time. Amen

Meditate on: Ecclesiastes 3:1 – To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven…

Reflection: Are you tired of being stuck?  A closed door is not necessarily a locked door!

To think that waiting is for my gaining greater trust….would be progressing and not being stuck after all. I need to keep this in mind. Also helpful was the idea that a closed door is not a locked door!
