There is Hope Today!

May the Lord, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take refuge, reward you fully for what you have done.” Ruth 2:12

True hope is a virtue that comes by trusting God even when circumstances are difficult. It is the confident expectation of what God has promised and its strength is in His faithfulness. Trust produces obedience, which produces hope, which results in joy and peace; and that is through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Even when circumstances seemed to dictate uncertainty in Naomi and Ruth’s situations, they didn’t give up. The book of Ruth illustrates how God deals with us as individuals. He pursues us passionately and lovingly and he calls us to partner with him personally. This is because He has made us each individually special and unique (Psalm 139:14) and this story points to the gospel in a very unique way for each Individual.

God stripped away those layers of culture and tradition that existed between Naomi and Ruth when He brought them together medalling them into real hope! I hope you can hear God telling you that he can and will do good things for you in your life, in your circumstance, no matter what struggles you are going through right now.

God speaks on behalf of His people uniquely. It must be a beautiful portrait the way God notices us. He sees the work we do on every front, in every place we serve no matter where or what we do! He does not measure what we do but how we do it.  The actions of Boaz exemplified what Christ, our Kinsman-Redeemer does on our behalf. Boaz called Ruth to belong in his vineyard. Jesus also calls us as well to draw us close to Himself.

This is a reminder to us that there is no need for anxiety or fear under the wings of Creator God of the universe. Micah 7:7 “But as for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me.” In spite of Naomi and Ruth’s brokenness, it all came together after their arrival in Bethlehem. Such an encouragement to know that there is hope!

Dear Lord, You are my refuge and strength, and ever present help in trouble.  All glory be to your name for taking me under your wings. You are my refuge and strength, and an ever present help in trouble. Therefore, I will not fear, I will put my trust in you. Amen

Reflect on the truth of God’s amazing grace upon us. There is hope in God even during the most challenging times of life because He is in total control.
