When you hear the word “change” what immediately comes to your mind? Perhaps some form of “transitioning”? Change can be positive or negative but it’s inevitable and affects everyone! Some of the things we can relate this to are: time, seasons, culture, jobs, schools, wardrobe and many more you may want to add!
I’m reminded of the year 2020 when the whole world was forced into making changes without choice. We had to adapt to: masks, lockdowns, quarantines, staying home, etc. These were inevitable but necessary. What really hit home for me and perhaps many is the simple things in life we take for granted, such as friendships, family, life and whatever would be applicable to you. The book of Ecclesiastes reminds us how life is like “vapor”.
The scripture that stands out to me so meaningfully here in “Jesus Christ is the same, yesterday today and forever” Heb. 13:8. This is so encouraging as some changes leave us uncomfortable and disillusioned. But we can depend on our God who is unchanging and eternal. No matter what happens, He remains faithful! His creation (the mountains, oceans, sun, and earth) remain constant. Since life is so temporary, we can live by faith and integrity in Him no matter what may come our way today.
