Where is Your Focus Today?

“Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are?” Mat. 6: 23-24

Birds are a daily delightful connection to nature, pollinate plants, disperse seeds and help to control insects. They are excellent environmental indicators or nature’s guards. They flock together, spread wings, are seasonal, confident and early risers, their melodies soak in and they are so colourful. God feeds them out of His abundance.

“That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life – whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. ”Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing?” Mat. 6:25

Flowers – inspire, calm and have positive effect on recipients. Attract pollen substances to plants, protect growing seeds, freshness soften our hearts when we are unhappy and drained. Uplift youth, beauty and splendor and pleasure, and are nature’s beauty. They blossom and survive severe adversity, and then rise up in spring! They symbolize virtues such as love, faith and hope.

“And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, Mat 6:28 “And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?” Mat. 6:29

In as much as the birds and flowers are unique, important, useful and part of God’s creation, He says so emphatically that we are more valuable to him than they are! That should create so much confidence in us to trust Him at all times as we live our lives today!

Next time worry shows up – think of the birds they just fly and sing and do what they have to do and the flowers just blossom and give us joy in their beauty everyday and don’t worry and yet God takes care of them so wonderfully.

Lord, Thank you that your are my Father, Lord and Provider. The way you connect with me is so loving and gracious. Help me to set my focus on You when worry comes to steal my joy and that I earnestly seek Your Kingdom. Amen
